That the minutes of the meeting of the Committee held on 8 August 2017 be confirmed as a correct record.

Exclusion of Press and Public

To consider passing the following resolution:

 

That, under Section 100A(4) of the Local Government Act, 1972, the press and public be excluded from the meeting for the following item(s) of business on the grounds that it involves the likely disclosure of exempt information as defined in Paragraphs 1 and 2of Part 1 of Schedule 12A to the Act.  The Public Interest Test has been applied and favours exclusion of the information from the Press and Public.

Appointment of Consultant in Public Health

The Committee will interview candidates for the post of Consultant in Public Health.

 

Copies of the interview timetable, the job description / person specification, the candidate application form and details of the proposed interview questions were distributed by the Chief Personnel Officer prior to the meeting.

 

Please note that any appointment to the post will be subject to the consideration of any material or well-founded objection to the appointment by Members of the Cabinet.

 

Minutes:

The Committee interviewed two candidates for the post of Consultant in Public Health.

 

RESOLVED: That

 

 

 

(1)     Mr. Martin Seymour be appointed to the post of Consultant in Public Health at a salary of the  £72,177 per annum, subject to references and any necessary checks; and

 

(2)     the offer of appointment in (1) above be subject to the Chief Personnel Officer notifying the Cabinet of the recommendation and ascertaining whether any Cabinet Member has a material or well-founded objection to the appointment.
