Report of the Director of Leisure and Tourism.

Minutes:

The Cabinet Member considered the report of the Leisure and Tourism Director seeking approval for temporary changes to the mobile service to provide an interim library service in Southport until the temporary library at the Southport Visiter Office is available for use and change opening hours when the library relocates to the Southport Visiter Office.

 

 

RESOLVED: That

 

(1)       the change in the timetable of the Mobile Library Service to provide an interim service as detailed within the report; and

 

(2)       the change in pattern of opening hours for the temporary library as detailed within the report, be approved.

Joint report of the Planning and Economic Regeneration Director and   the Director of Leisure and Tourism.

The Cabinet Member considered the joint report of the Planning and Economic Regeneration Director and the Leisure and Tourism Director updating on the development of the Ribble Coast and Wetlands Regional Park (RCWRP) and seeking approval to sign up to the Joint Working Agreement.

 

A copy of the draft Joint Working Agreement for the Ribble Coast and Wetlands Regional Park was attached as an annexe to the report.

 

RESOLVED: That

 

(1)       the draft Joint Working Agreement for the Ribble Coast and Wetlands Regional Park be approved;

 

(2)       the Legal Director and Leisure and Tourism Directors be authorised to agree any minor amendments to the draft Joint Working Agreement for the Ribble Coast, and enter into the Agreement;

 

(3)       the Leisure and Tourism Director be requested to provided an update on progress when the agreement ins due for renewal in May 2012.

The Cabinet Member considered the report of the Leisure and Tourism Director advising of the Sefton’s Natural Coast Marketing Plan 2010, which had been developed in conjunction with the Sefton Coast Partnership and aimed to develop opportunities for tourism across Sefton by raising awareness of the coastal offer to key target audiences.

 

RESOLVED:

 

That the Sefton’s Natural Coast Marketing Plan for the period 2010 to June 2012 be approved.

Peter Sandman

Minutes:

The Leisure and Tourism Director indicated that Mr Peter Sandman, Visitor Economy Manager would be leaving the Authority to take up a new post in Merseytravel.

 

RESOLVED:

 

That Mr P.Sandman be thanked for all his excellent work within the Leisure and Tourism Department and congratulated on the behalf of the Leisure and Tourism Department.
