Aintree Village Youth and Community Centre

Minutes:

Further to Minute No.6 of the meeting of 15 June, 2017, the Committee wished to record their sincere thanks to Council Officers dealing with matters at Aintree Village and Community Centre.

 

RESOLVED:

 

That Council Officers be thanked for their efforts and general hard work at Aintree Youth and Community Centre.

 

18.

Public Forum

A period of 20 minutes (or longer at the discretion of the Chair) will be set aside for a Public Forum.

 

Members of the public can ask questions, raise matters, or present petitions on issues that are relevant to Sefton Council.  The person asking a question will be allowed one supplementary question.

 

A question form indicating the person’s name and address must be completed and submitted to the Democratic Services Officer as soon as possible and by no later than 12:00(noon) the day before the meeting.

 

(If the questioner does not attend the meeting or nominate a representative to attend (at the discretion of the Chair), the question will not be read out, but a written response will be forwarded to the questioner).

 

If a response to a question cannot be provided at the meeting, the Neighbourhoods Division will contact the relevant department for a formal response and the resident will be contacted directly in writing.

Police Issues

Report of the Neighbourhood Inspector

 

Update on crime statistics and area interventions since the last meeting

 

Minutes:

The Committee received presentations by Inspector Fisher and Sergeant Young.

 

They gave details of reported crime patterns and trends referring to reported figures relating to: anti-social behaviour; car key thefts; scrambler motor bikes; burglary rates; the beach safe programme for 2017; scooter crime; the progress of the re-structuring of the force across the borough; and the force’s use of social media.

 

Inspector Fisher and Sergeant Young also answered queries from the Committee.

 

RESOLVED: That

 

(1)          the Police be thanked for their presentation; and

(2)          the Police be commended for the ‘Beach Safe Scheme’ which made people aware of potential risks and dangers of being on the beach, as well as being respectful to the environment and other beach users.

Parish Council Updates

Minutes:

Parish Councillor Gerry Lee, Chair of the Sefton Area Partnership of Local Councils (SAPLC) gave a brief verbal update from the Parish Councils.

 

Parish Councillor Hounsell invited Ward Councillors to Thornton Parish Council meetings.

That Mr. Lee be thanked for his presentation.

Presentation by Formby Pool Trust

These are formal decisions to be taken by the Members of the Council.  Only in exceptional cases will the Chair allow contributions from the public (Advisory Group Members may speak but not vote)

 

Minutes:

The Committee received a presentation from David Kiernan and Dympna Edwards from Formby Pool Trust on the future aspirations and plans for the pool and site.

 

RESOLVED:

 

Mr.Kierman and Ms.Edwards be thanked for their presentation.

Thomson Road, Seaforth - Receipt of objection to Proposed Traffic Regulation Order pdf icon PDF 141 KB

Report of the Head of Locality Services - Commissioned

Minutes:

The Committee considered the report of Head of Locality Services - Commissioned which advised of the receipt of an objection to the proposed Traffic Regulation Order on Thomson Road, Seaforth and to recommend the way forward.

 

RESOLVED:

 

(1)                   the objection be noted;

 

(2)                   the Traffic Regulation Order(s) for Thomson Road be implemented as originally advertised; and

 

(3)        the objector be advised of the decision of this meeting;
