Rimrose Valley Petition Against the Dual Carriageway
We the undersigned petition the council to Prevent the proposed dual carriageway being built from the Port through Rimrose Valley to Switch Island
This proposed road is going to damage the health and well being
of the residents in Sefton.
The pollution levels in the area already regularly exceed legal safety limits. The extra pollution will cause serious harm, reduce our children's life expectancies and cause them serious health problems.
The road will cut the community in half with families and friends being separated by a massive dual carriageway.
Our greenspace in Sefton is limited we deserve the right to keep the space that we have left available to us. Our community deserves the right to be able to enjoy Rimrose Valley Park, to escape the busy polluted roads and to enjoy some fresh air surrounded by trees and wildlife.
Peel ports are the ones who will benefit from this road. Not the residents of Sefton.Peel ports who are owned by a tax exile so do not even pay the correct amount of tax. According to the Independent newspaper they pay a maximum average of 10 per cent corporation tax. And yet our government wants to build them a road. Peel ports should be made to contribute towards the cost of building a tunnel instead of this dual carriageway and also to use the existing railways.
Why should we suffer for their gain? Why should our children's lives be shortened to line their pockets? This proposed road will effect the whole of South Sefton and we need the council to help stop this corporate company destroying our lives and those of our future generations.
