Purpose:

To seek approval for the procurement process through the National Network of Regional Coastal Monitoring Programmes’ Framework for Aerial Photography.

Decision(s):

 

(1)  The tender process to procure Aerial Photography for the North West coast via the national network of coastal monitoring programme’s framework be approved.

 

(2)   The Assistant Director of People (Operational In-House Services) be delegated responsibility to award the contract to the preferred bidder in consultation with the Cabinet Member subject to approval by Council of the North West Regional Coastal Monitoring budget in the capital programme 2023/24.

 

 

Reasons for the Decision (s):

 

In compliance with Sefton Council’s Contract Procedure Rule 1.10.1, a Pre-Procurement Report is required to be submitted in order to secure approval to commence a procurement exercise.

 

Alternative Options Considered and Rejected:

 

Satellite imagery could be procured but this data is not as suitable as the resolution is not as detailed and is prone to cloud cover. The timing of photography may not coincide with low water, missing vital sections of the intertidal area, so had been specified in the contract.
