Report of the Strategic Director - Children, Schools and Families

Minutes:

Further to Minute No. 39 of the meeting of the Cabinet Member – Children’s Services held on 14 September 2010, the Cabinet considered the report of the Strategic Director of Children, Schools and Families which sought approval to an investment to extend a domestic property in order to allow two children under 5 years old currently in the Interim Care of the Local Authority to be placed in the permanent care of extended family members under Special Guardianship Regulations.

 

RESOLVED:

 

That approval be given to agree to the inclusion of a sum of £26,750 for the scheme within the capital programme, with funding provided entirely from the Children’s Services Fostering Revenue budget.

Report of the Strategic Director - Children, Schools and Families

Minutes:

The Cabinet Member considered the report of the Strategic Director, Children, Schools and Families seeking approval to continue the ongoing support for two children residing in Wrexham in compliance with the Special Guardianship Regulations; and expenditure to extend the family home to provide bedroom and living space for the two looked after children in the care of their great aunt and partner until adulthood under a Special Guardianship arrangement.

 

RESOLVED: That

 

(1)       subject to the appropriate financial clearance, the expenditure to extend the family home to provide bedroom and living space for two looked after children in the care of their great aunt and partner until adulthood under a Special Guardianship arrangement as detailed within the report be approved; and

 

 

(2)       Cabinet be requested to include the above expenditure in the Children, Schools and Families Capital Programme.
