The Committee considered the report of the Head of Health and Wellbeing and Director of Public Health relating to recruitment to the post Consultant in Public Health.

RESOLVED: That

(1)           the shortlisted candidates for progression to the interview stage be approved; and

(2)      the proposed approach for this recruitment be approved and it be noted that:

(a)    the post is graded Hay 4, salary £80,125[PF1]  to £85,125 per annum;

(b)    a copy of the advertisement could be found at appendix 1;

(c)    given that the rates of pay between the NHS and Sefton Council are not comparable, the Head of Health & Wellbeing & Director of Public Health had requested that the advertisement indicated that a market supplement may be payable (where applicable) so as to try and attract quality applicants; and

(d)    the job description and person specification were included at Appendix 2.
