That the Minutes of the meeting held on 27 September 2017, be confirmed as a correct record.

To consider passing the following resolution:

 

That, under Section 100A(4) of the Local Government Act, 1972, the press and public be excluded from the meeting for the following item(s) of business on the grounds that it involves the likely disclosure of exempt information as defined in Paragraphs1 and 2 of Part 1 of Schedule 12A to the Act.  The Public Interest Test has been applied and favours exclusion of the information from the Press and Public.

Recruitment to Executive Director

Report of the Chief Personnel Officer

Minutes:

Further to Minute No. 9 of 27 September 2018, the Committee considered the report of the Chief Personnel Officer that updated on the recruitment process to date for the completion of the appointment of the Executive Director; and seeking approval of the shortlist of candidates and the final selection process.

 

RESOLVED: That

 

(1)

 

 

 

(2)

the recommended shortlist of candidates as detailed in the report, for progression to the initial selection stage for the post of Executive Director be approved;

 

the Chief Executive in consultation with the Chair of the Committee, be authorised to shortlist candidates from the initial selection stage to escalate to the technical stage of the process;

 

(3)

the job description and person specification for the post as set out at Annex 4 to the report be noted;

 

(4)

it be noted that the post had been advertised at a salary of £112,209 (pay rise pending) (Senior Management Hay 1), with provision for a market supplement in accordance within the Council’s Pay Policy;

 

(5)

it be noted that a copy of the job advertisement, attached as Annex 1 to the report, had been placed in in the Municipal Journal, Local Government Chronicle, the Guardian Online along with appropriate Social Media such as the Council’s twitter feed, facebook and linkedin;

 

(6)

the full recruitment timetable and process as set out at Annex 5 to the report be noted; and

 

(7)

the future pathway for appointments to enable a future quicker  appointment process for Hay 5 and above posts as detailed at 4.1 to 4.3 in the report be approved as the process for the Committee in the future.
