That the minutes of the meeting held on 17 May 2018, be confirmed as a correct record.

Exclusion of Press and Public

To consider passing the following resolution:

 

That, under Section 100A(4) of the Local Government Act, 1972, the press and public be excluded from the meeting for the following item(s) of business on the grounds that it involves the likely disclosure of exempt information as defined in Paragraph1 of Part 1 of Schedule 12A to the Act.  The Public Interest Test has been applied and favours exclusion of the information from the Press and Public.

RESOLVED:

 

That, under Section 100A(4) of the Local Government Act, 1972, the press and public be excluded from the meeting for the following item(s) of business on the grounds that it/they would involve(s) the likely disclosure of exempt information as defined in paragraph 1 of Part 1 of Schedule 12A to the Act. Interviews - Executive Director Post

The Committee will interview candidates for the post of Executive Director

 

Copies of the interview timetable, the job description / person specification, the candidate application forms and details of the proposed interview questions were distributed by the Chief Personnel Officer prior to the meeting.

 

Please note that any appointment to the post will be subject to the consideration of any material or well-founded objection to the appointment by Members of the Cabinet.

 

Minutes:

The Committee interviewed five candidates for the post of Executive Director.

 

RESOLVED: That

 

(1)      the Committee authorises the offer of the post of Executive Director to a candidate on the previously notified salary and conditions;

 

(2)      the offer of appointment in (1) above, be subject to the Chief Personnel Officer notifying the Cabinet of the recommendation and ascertaining whether any Cabinet Member has a material or well-founded objection to the appointment; and

 

(3)      the Committee authorises the Chief Executive and Chief Personnel Officer to consider and offer an appropriate opportunity to a candidate in view of the qualities shown at interview.  This opportunity may be at Executive Director level (although may be of a more time limited nature).
