That the Minutes of the meeting held on 15 January, 2016 be confirmed as a correct record.

 

16.

Exclusion of the Press and Public

To consider passing the following resolution:

 

That, under Section 100A(4) of the Local Government Act, 1972, the press and public be excluded from the meeting for the following item(s) of business on the grounds that it involves the likely disclosure of exempt information as defined in Paragraphs 1 and 2 of Part 1 of Schedule 12A to the Act.  The Public Interest Test has been applied and favours exclusion of the information from the Press and Public.

RESOLVED:

 

That, under Section 100A(4) of the Local Government Act, 1972, the press and public be excluded from the meeting for the following items of business on the grounds that they would involve the likely disclosure of exempt information as defined in paragraphs 1 and 2 of Part 1 of Schedule 12A to the Act. The Public Interest Test has been applied and favours exclusion of the information from the press and public.

 

 

17.

Approval of Severance Payment

Report of the Chief Personnel Officer

Minutes:

The Committee considered the report of the Chief Personnel Officer, which sought approval for the severance payment of a senior officer.

 

Marie Lambert, the Personnel Officer in attendance, confirmed that refusal to approve the severance payment, which was in-line with Council policies, could result in litigation against the Council for breach of contract.

 

RESOLVED: That

 

(1)          the severance payment in accordance with the employee contractual entitlement, detailed within the report, be approved; and

 

(2)          in accordance with Rule 93 of the Council and Committee Procedure Rules of the Constitution, the dissent of Councillor Shaw, from the decision set out above, be recorded.
