Sefton council to open dog parks

We the undersigned petition the council to Open dog parks across Sefton to enable dogs to be be off lead in a safe environment.

Since the new dog laws came in across Sefton, there are limited places to walk a dog off lead. Although I agree that in certain areas, particularly where there are young children, dogs should be on a lead; dogs should also have the ability to exercise off lead in a secure and safe environment.
As they do in America, dog parks could be opened to enable fenced off areas where dogs can run and play off lead.
They could also be used for training, providing agility equipment.
This could also reduce costs in the number of dogs who go missing, saving time and resources from dog wardens and other services that are needed in help find the dog missing.
The wardens could also still be used to ensure dogs are under control and all mess is picked up.
