Liverpool Road / Moss Lane Junction, Lydiate

We the undersigned petition the council to Investigate the options for making the junction at Liverpool Road and Moss Lane, Lydiate safer for pedestrians and cyclists.

At the junction between Liverpool Road and Moss Lane, Lydiate a number of factors combine to form an incredibly dangerous road to cross, which results on near misses on a daily basis. It is only a matter of time before someone is seriously hurt crossing.

Cars leaving the A59 often do not indicate as they leave the roundabout and are travelling at high speeds, approximately 50% of them then turn into Moss Lane. Moss Lane itself is also on a bend so visibility is poor. There is no pavement on this corner, but the number of people who use this path can clearly be seen by the worn away grass and mud.

We cross this road every day on our walk to and from school and see numerous other people struggling to cross it, just as we do. We would appreciate the council investigating ways of making it safer, including the option of a pedestrian crossing.
