ePetition details

We the undersigned petition the council to We the residents of Princes Street Southport (39 SIGNATURES) request the council TO REJECT the plan (REFERENCE DC/2022/01367) of a new egress into Princes Street from the car park to the rear of 14 Portland Street Southport PR81LI.

This objection is because of the amount of traffic already using this street and the amount of cars already parked along one side of the street. Vehicles driving along the street now have to stop to let oncoming cars pass by sometimes two or three cars queing to pass by which leads to cars mounting the kerb to let them pass
Any additional traffic adding to this situation would cause traffic jams and would be a serious health and safety risk.
The new exit into Princes Street would increase not only the stress for the residents but also the added pollution from car fumes In addition properties would loose their value.
The residents of Princess Street have made their objections by way of a petition to the council in 2009 to that new planned exit into Princes Street which was rejected then.
There is already a wide exit and entrance to this car park on Portland Street which is more appropiate and efficient.
