Outside body

The Association aims to foster the widest measure of support for the Royal Naval Reserve, the Royal Marines Reserve, the Territorial Army, and the Cadet Forces within the community as a whole and to create the most favourable climate in which the units themselves may conduct their recruiting activities. It is closely concerned with the morale and welfare of the Volunteers and in particular with the personal and administrative problems which face them as members of a civilian community who serve part time in the Armed Forces in peace.

The Association is unusual for its extensive rifle range and training complex which it administers at Altcar, Hightown in the Borough of Sefton.

The Annual General Meeting is held once per year in March and the Property Advisory Board sits three times per year.
