Safer Sefton Together

Description

Community Safety Partnerships (CSP) are a requirement of the Crime and Disorder Act 1998. In Sefton our CSP is known as Safer Sefton Together (SST). The partnership is made up of representatives from Sefton Council, Merseyside Police, Merseyside Fire and Rescue Authority, National Probation Service, and Sefton’s Integrated Care Partnership (known as the ‘responsible authorities’) and a range of other public, private and third sector delivery partners. SST is responsible for partnership work within Sefton to deliver “Stronger, Safer, Communities” and it has a strategic plan to deliver this.

The responsible authorities work together to protect their local communities from crime and help people feel safer. They work out how to deal with local issues including anti-social behaviour, drug or alcohol misuse, offending/re-offending. They assess local crime priorities and consult partners and the local community about how to deal with them.
