Norman is an International tourism and leisure attractions consultant who specialises in creating family-focused entertainment, from dynamic theme parks and immersive experiences. Norman is a 6th generation attractions professional whose great, great, great, great grandfather started the Wallis family attractions business.
As former marketing manager for of Blackpool Tower (First Leisure Corporation), Norman's skills were honed in how to move people in confined spaces with commercial success but with customer satisfaction.
International experience has included being lead consultant in leisure projects in Dubai
(original Dubailand), Russia and Kazakhstan. Norman visits other international theme parks and exhibitions regularly to keep abreast of emerging trends in the experience market.
Norman was formerly a member of the North West Tourist Board Commercial Members Committee. He is a member of IAAPA (the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions, which represents over 5,300 amusement-industry members in more than 100 countries worldwide). Norman is also a member of the Parliamentary Review Committee and has had two articles published to date.
Norman has spent the last 12 years regenerating Southport Pleasureland from a burnt-out and derelict abandoned site to a busy, profitable and popular anchor attraction for families visiting the region. Pleasureland now draws more than 500,000 visitors during its short 12-week season, and Norman has recently announced plans to develop a new year-round destination attraction in Southport.
Norman is a regular partner for the town’s own efforts to attract visitor footfall and a huge advocate for the Stand up for Southport campaign.
